Adapting control to more than one kind of supply. - An electric motor has its various windings connected to contacts 7 in a casing, into which any one of a number of key-like members may be inserted and retained by a bayonet catch. Each key member is in the form of a plug, Fig. 3, and carries contacts 14 for co-operating with the contacts 7, the contacts 14 being interconnected amongst themselves so that each key when inserted adapts the motor for operating upon a particular voltage &c. The contacts of the plug may be constituted by the upturned ends of a number of spiders threaded on a central boss. In a modification, an elongated key carrying contacts as wards is insertedin a keyhole and turned so that the contacts engage and suitably interconnect the fixed contacts which are associated with the motor windings and are disposed in a row.
