Abstract
335,942. Gill, H. A., (Nichols Products Corporation). July 3, 1929. Small chambers; heating-fittings.-A drying chamber comprises a shell 3 and inner wall 4 forming a jacket through which steam is passed and in which it is heated such as by electric heaters 10. The material to be dried rests on a perforated tray 8 which is supported by the top of the jacket. The steam is injected at a point above the material through pipes 13 which are arranged between the heating elements and the inner wall, and is exhausted through an outlet 14 at the bottom of the chamber. The pipes 13 may be omitted, the steam passing through the jacket in contact with the electric heaters which are placed adjacent the inner wall. The jacket may comprise concentric cylinders, the steam entering the chamber through an opening at the top.
