Abstract

335,926. Storey, W. H. June 25, 1929. Anti-dazzle screens.- An arrangement for actuating direction signalling and anti-glare devices for use on road vehicles comprises a ring 5 mounted on the spokes 2a, 2b, 2c of the steering wheel 1 and having arranged on it above the spokes contact buttons 6a, 6b, 6c, the contact button 6c being arranged in a circuit for controlling anti-glare devices. In the modification shown in Fig. 2 the contact buttons are on the underside of the ring 5 and project through holes in the spokes 2a, 2b, 2c. The ring 5 is constructed of a semi-circular part 5a and a tubular part 5b as shown in Figs. 3 and 5. Fig. 3 shows the switch arrangement used when a circuit is made through the leads 19 and 20 by depression of a contact button 6. Fig. 5 shows the arrangement used when a circuit through the leads 26, 27 is broken when depression of a contact button 6 breaks the normal contact between the boss 22a and the spring 23 to extinguish or dim side lamps and/or head lamps as described in Specification 335,516, [Class 118 (ii), Signals]. The ring 5 can be applied to the underside of the wheel 1, the contact buttons being actuated as shown in Fig. 2.
