Turning; diamond and like tools.-A grinding- wheel s is trued by a diamond k carried by a holder a, which rests in a grooved guide b in a bed d, and is held adjustably by a screw e, passing through slots f<1>, f<2> in the holder or in the bed or in both and carrying a clamping nut g. The bed d has therein transverse guide-grooves i<1>, i<2>, i<3> adapted to receive an axle o mounted between the centres of the machine, the axle being clamped by the holder a; the holder has an extension m which rests on the machine bed t, and either the wheel or the bed t is traversed to true the wheel. The tool may be clamped on the tailstock centre; with a flat machine bed, the extension m is supported by a rest on the bed.
