Abstract

335,746. Adkins, W. Oct. 5, 1929. Chain-wheels.-A chain-wheel for motor cycles and vehicles is provided with metal or other side flanges or plates 2 bolted, riveted, welded, integral, &c., with the wheel and extending radially beyond the teeth 8 so as to prevent the chain from escaping from the wheel when it mounts the teeth. The inner faces of the groove are outwardly divergent at their edges and may be flat or may be curved to flat ogee form to prevent the chain from sliding outwardly thereon when properly seated on the teeth.
