Abstract

332,183. Aktiebolaget Separator. Jan. 17, 1929, [Convention date]. Recovering waste lubricants. -The vertical shaft 1 which carries the bowl of a centrifugal separator also carries a cleaning drum 4, which catches and purifies the lubricating oil splashed up from the bath 6 by the gear wheel 5. The drum 4 may be vaned, and collecting channels 8 for the oil may be provided and connected to the drum by the channels 9. The cleaning drum 4 may have a pile of discs, and may have openings, normally closed, through which deposited sludge can be removed. The oil passing through the top bearing may be fed directly into the cleaning drum 4.
