Abstract
332,095. M³ller, C. W. May 30, 1929, [Convention date]. Boxes made from special blanks; lids. -A covered box or carton in which a neck is formed by' joggling the side walls is arranged so that the cigarettes shall not be loose in the space beneath the joggled neck. In the box made from the blank shown in Fig. 2, the joggle 11 is situated at a smaller distance from the bottom than the thickness of a cigarette the lid hinging about a line 10. In the box made from the blank shown in Fig. 5 flaps 13 fold within the box below the joggle 11 and occupy the superfluous space. In the box blank shown in Fig. 7 embossed portions 14 below the joggle 11 serve the same purpose. In this box flaps 15 project upwards from the ends of the rear wall of the box and prevent the cigarettes of the top layer rolling into the lid when the box is opened. These flaps 15 and the embossment 14 on the side wall may be omitted and the lid made to hinge about the line 10<1> instead of the line 10.
