Abstract

326,692. Vogt, C. W. April 23, 1929. Ice-cream preparations. - In the manufacture of ice-cream or the like, the mix is semi-frozen and whipped to obtain the desired over-run in a chamber 13 supplied from a batch weigher reservoir 14. The semi-frozen batch is discharged through a valve 16 into a receptacle 17 supported on a scale platform 18 connected by a scale beam 20 provided with adjustable and removable weights. The beam 20 cooperates with electrical means to maintain the valve 24 open so long as there is ice-cream in the vessel 17 to be sucked through a pipe 23 leading to rotary freezing cylinders in a chamber in which vacuum is maintained by a pump 81. The freezing is completed on the cylinders and the ice-cream is scraped therefrom on to a conveyer 65 which delivers it through a shoot 72 leading to a chamber 73 containing a compressing-worm 74 which forces it into a detachable can or mould 77.
