Abstract
325,617. Leon, M., and Harben's (Viscose Silk Manufacturers), Ltd. Dec. 6. 1928. Drying fibres or yarns in long lengths.- Threads of artificial silk, particularly viscose silk, produced in a coagulating or fixing bath containing a size or adhesive are washed to remove acids and salts without removing the size or adhesive, and are then dried individually, i.e. in single lengths and not in bobbins or packages, before subjection to the usual manufacturing processes. The threads may be dried by passing them individuallv over heated surfaces or through tubes through which hot air is circulated.
