325,444. Berlin, D. W., and Brinck, J. A. May 22, 1929. Drawings to Specification. Peat, preparing.-The peat is disintegrated and sludged with water, wet-carbonized, centrifuged and then subjected to heat treatment. In a particular sequence the peat, after excavation, is passed through a disintegrator and mixed with water and then enters a wetcarbonizing apparatus. The carbonized peat is next subjected to the centrifugal operation and is further freed from water in a filter press before being treated in a kiln and finally briquetted.
