Abstract

324,330. Pozniakov, N. Sept. 11, 1928. Papers, stripping; preventing halation.-A layer of soluble material is interposed between a gelatino-silver sensitive film and its paper support, so that this may be detached by the action of water at normal temperature. The intermediate layer has no action on the sensitive film. In transferring the sensitive film, for example to glass, celluloid, stone or metal, for photomechanical work, and in colour photography or kinematography, &c., the dry paper is applied under pressure after exposure and before development &c. to a wetted support, and the paper is removed after applying water to its back. The intermediate layer may comprise gum arabic, water-soluble lithographic ink, sugared gelatin, soluble starch, or a mixture, of such substances, and may also contain (1) materials such as carbonate of barium or calcium for obtaining a smooth surface, and (2) colouring-matter for producing contrast, avoiding halation, or desensitizing the emulsion before development.
