Television.-A stationary background is supplied by means of the Pepper's ghost effect to the picture reproduced at a television receiving station. The scanning disc is viewed through an inclined sheet of glass, and at the same time a picture representing the background is viewed by reflection at the surface of the sheet of glass. The latter picture may have been phototelegraphed from the transmitting station.
