Handles.-The end of the handle of a ballstriking implement for games has attached to it an endless ring of an elastic substance and a covering cap enclosing the ring and the end face of the handle and forming with the ring an enlargement on the handle. The end of the handle a, Fig. 2, has applied to it an endless ring b of an elastic substance such as indiarubber which is held in position in a recessed seating at the end of the handle. In order to balance the implement a central hole is formed at the end of the implement handle to receive a weight c fixed in the handle by a wood screw c<1>. An enclosing cap e is applied to the end of the handle, the cap being either of a substance such as rubber adapted to be first moulded and vulcanized and then applied to be retained in position under its own elasticity or of a substance such as a solution of cellulose or of a cellulose derivative such as viscose adapted to be applied in a plastic condition and to set hard. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the ring b is provided with an inwardly protruding collar b<1> adapted to engage with a peripheral groove extending around the handle a. In the modification shown in Fig. 6 the ring is dispensed with the end of the handle being enlarged and the cap-e directly applied, the edge e<1> of the cap engaging with a peripheral groove near the end of the handle. In the modification shown in Fig. 8 the ring b is applied within an annular cavity in the handle and the cap e is applied over the ring b with its edges engaging in an annular recess in the periphery of the handle.
