Spring surfaces.-Vehicle seats have the spring surface of the seat bottom and back subdivided into independent sections each comprising one or more spring units, each section or unit having braking or damping means to lessen rebound. The spring units may be blade springs 2, 42, Fig. 2, fitted with sliding or semi-rotary frictional damping-devices 6, 46 respectively, or upholstery springs mounted singly, Fig. 7, or in rows, Fig. 10, with frictional dampers 30, 43, 73, 74 associated therewith.
