Abstract
323,357. Ely, C. A. Dec. 20, 1928. Double-bolt fastenings; locks for door knobs; knobs, attaching; emergency-exit fastenings, with a coupler e, Fig. 1, revoluble about a fixed axis, have a sliding peg h<2> movable to engage the coupler so as to hold the bolts a, c withdrawn. The peg engages a projection e<4> which has a cam face to depress the peg in passing. The peg h<2> is retained out of action by rotating its handle h<3>, Fig. 5. The coupler e is mounted on a square spindle l in line with, but detached from, a freely rotatable knob n carrying a plate o with apertures o<2>. These apertures are engaged by pins r<4> on a plate r<3> sliding on the spindle l and rotated therewith. The plate r<3> is forced outwards against a spring s by a slide t having cams t<2> engaging recesses in the casing m<2> and moved by the bolt u of a key-lock provided with a key y and tumblers v.
