Abstract

323,230. Williams, J. G. Sept. 25, 1928. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers. - In a kneading- machine comprising a pair of parallel horizontal shafts fitted with kneading arms and working in a container, auxiliary kneading devices are provided comprising a second pair of parallel horizontal shafts with kneading arms arranged above the first pair. The driving shafts 5 - - 8 are interconnected by external gears and the kneading shafts are detachably mounted, the coupling comprising projections 12a, Fig. 3 on the beater shaft fitting into recesses H, Fig. 4 in the shafts 5 - - 8, clamping members such as screws 13 being provided.
