323,030. Dyer, P. E., and Hannah, J. M. June 20, 1928. Films.-A thin film for photography or kinematography comprises a support of insoluble transparent cellulose (viscose) paper, such as that known under the registered trade mark " Sidac," coated with sensitive gelatin emulsion which is rapidly cooled immediately after coating, and thereafter dried. One or both sides of the support may be sensitized by immersion in, or by passing over a roller partly immersed in, the emulsion. The cooling may be performed at about 32‹ F. by passing the film over a hollow air- or water-cooled roller, or by an air-blast. Three methods of preparing gelatino-silver emulsions suitable for such films are described in the Specification.
