Pendulum-weight apparatus.-In a weighing- apparatus of the type wherein the whole of the weighing-mechanism, including the load counterbalancing means, with or without the indicating mechanism or pointer, is mounted beneath the platform, the platform is guided by and suspended from rockable members mounted, by means of flexible members, between parts movable with the platform and fixed parts parallel with the movable parts, the fixed and movable parts being so arranged that they, through the intermediary of the flexible members, bear against the rockable members and prevent lateral movement of the platform. A frame 5 to which the platform is secured is suspended at each of the four corners by means of a flexible band 6. The bands are coiled round, and secured to, a pair of parallel rollers 8 supported, for rolling contact with vertical standards 11, by means of flexible bands 10. Guide rods 7 projecting from the frame 5 contact with bands 6; pendulum-weights 14 secured to the ends of the rollers act as load resistants. The pendulum-weights at one end of the rollers are connected by crossed bands 15. The pointer 20 indicates weights and prices on a graduated chart 19 and is operated by a thread 30 attached to one of the rollers 8. A spiral spring 32 returns the pointer to zero. The pointer may be operated by a rack and pinion. Instead of a pointer 20, a rotatable graduated drum cooperating with a fixed pointer may be used. A dashpot 16 is provided.
