Synchronism indicators.-A luminous discharge tube L, or other indicating device, rotating with a disc M, in synchronism with a wireless transmitter sending out a rotating beam, glows when signals from the latter reach an aerial A which energizes it through receivers and amplifiers V, and indicates the position of the transmitter with reference to a datum line on the chart K. The transmitter may furnish the datum line also by sending out a non-directional radiation once per revolution when the directional beam is passing a specified direction, say north. The rotation speed of transmitter and receiving indicator may be fast enough to give a continuous impression at the receiver. Phase-shifting means may be provided to shift the received datum line to a definite mark on the scale K, and synchronism may be checked by keeping the received datum line stationary.
