316,913. Pearson & Co., Ltd., E. T., and Lowen, C. G. May 3, 1928. Enlarging.-A holder for the sensitized paper or card comprises two hingedly-connected interfitting frames. The outer frame 1 has inner dimensions to fit the card used, the inner walls being preferably inclined to the plane of the frame. The inner frame 2 fits into the outer frame and, when it rests on the card, masks the outer edge. The inner frame is raised automatically, for example by means of a spring 4, when a finger-catch 7 releases the tongue 8. A stop 13 limits the rise of the inner frame, and may also turn to one side to allow this frame to swing right over. To enable the cards to be easily removed from the frame, a finger 9 having a lip 10 fitting underneath the card is pivotally mounted on the outer frame. The finger 9 may be spring actuated, causing the card to rise automatically with the rise of the inner frame. Means for affixing the frame 1 to the baseboard of the enlarger in any required position are described. The device may be connected to the lighting circuit of the enlarger in such a way as to switch on the exposure lamp when the inner frame is pressed down, and switch off when it is raised.
