Abstract

316,845. Hillson, A. K. Dec. 24, 1928. Moving-chamber apparatus for granular materials. -A measured quantity of a granular substance may be withdrawn through a semielliptical opening c in the lid of a container a by means of a spoon having a flanged handle by which it is suspended within the container. The periphery of the opening c may be recessed to house the flange d which may be of an extent sufficient to cover the whole opening, and rest on opposite sides thereof. The edge of the opening c may be straight or curved in either direction; three such outlines may be formed in one container for obtaining different measures of material. Heaping ' may be prevented by providing a flat-bottomed spoon. A sliding panel may cover the opening c when the container is out of use.
