Gases, treating with electric discharges.-In the electric purification of gases containing hot vapours, e.g. metal vapours, cold air or other gas is added to the gas under treatment before it enters the purifier in order to facilitate condensation. The amount of the addition may be automatically controlled by thermometers or hygrometers or by the current variations in the electric precipitator.
