Abstract
315,190. Mellor, J. H. Feb. 15, 1929. Rotary perforating machines. - A machine for perforating paper, card &c. comprises a pair of intergeared spindles a, b, one of which is provided with a cutter w, the other being provided with co-operating dies v. The tools are axially adjustable. A composite feed roller g is mounted in brackets f pivoted on the spindle a adjustable weights f<1>, f<2> being provided to regulate the pressure between the roll g and discs h or d mounted on the spindle b. The feed roll may be positively driven. The spindle a is mounted in eccentric bearings m which may be simultaneously adjusted by a bar n which also carries adjustable work-strippers o. The tool spindles may be mounted in an inclined plane. A tail roller q which may be idle or driven from the spindle b may be provided. The work is passed along a feed board p provided with a side gauge. The machine may be driven manually or by power.
