Abstract
314,473. Camco (Machinery), Ltd., (Assignees of Tufts, L. R.). June 28, 1928, [Convention date]. Gumming - machines.-A device for applying a line of paste to sheets of paper moving through a machine comprises a paste container 21 in which rotates an agitating disc 27, a transfer disc 36 projecting into a lower well 26 of the container, and an applying disc 42, the edge of which takes up paste from a groove B, Fig. 5, in the periphery of the disc 36. The device is adjustably mounted upon a bar 13 and a rotary shaft 14 passing transversely across the machine, and the discs are driven by gearing from the shaft 14, so that the discs 36, 42, have a wiping action, and the disc 42 runs at a slightly higher speed than the paper. The discs 36, 42, are carried by an arm adjustably mounted on the container 21.
