Abstract

311,847. John, A. S. Aug. 9, 1928. Spray carburettors. - The charge is mixed by air admitted through tangential passages leading from the atmosphere to an annular space formed between the inner wall of the mixing- chamber and the outer wall of a tube mounted concentrically therein, the tube being provided with an unobstructed bore through which the mixture passes. As shown in Fig. 5, the tube 4 projects from the upper part of the choke tube 14 or from a ring adapted to be secured in the mixing-chamber, the tangential air inlets, which may be controlled by a parted sleeve 19, being formed in the wall of the mixing-chamber and opening into the annular space 13.
