311,739. Atlas Powder Co., (Assignees of Carnegie, D.). May 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Cellulose nitrate solutions.-Nitrocellulose solutions for use as coating compositions and lacquers are brought to the desired consistency by dilution with liquid petroleum hydrocarbons having substantially the same rate of evaporation as the solvent employed, the solvent generally constituting at least 25 per cent of the total solvent mixture. Examples are given of nitrocellulose lacquers containing (1) butyl acetate and a naphtha boiling at 72-183‹ C. and (2) ethyl acetate, ethyl alcohol, and a naphtha boiling at 72-115‹ C. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 6542/92, 22309/19, 133,972 and 164,032.
