Block paving.-A hollow floor, road, or pavement is formed of slabs a having side feet c, e which rest on bearers d laid on piers, girders, or a concrete or brick surface. The slabs may be provided with cross ribs b and end grooves f for connecting tongues, and are removable for the inspection of pipes and cables. Both the slabs and bearers may be made of fibrous cement and may be reinforced.
