Abstract

304,711. Dieterich, L. M. Nov. 12, 1027. Relief effects in kinematographic images, producing. - With the object of producing the effect ot relief in photographs, a portion of the lens is moved axially during exposure, either while the lens remains stationary or is itself moved axially, in such a manner that while focussing on different planes of the object the size of the image is unaltered, all parts of the object being photographed sharply in focus. The invention is described in connection with kinematographic cameras. A lens system consisting of four lenses 26 - - 29 is mounted on a circular plate 30 which mav be turned about an axle 16 to bring the lens opposite the aperture 38 for view-finding ; the lens system having a lens 27 arranged to be moved axially by the arm 44 mounted on a sleeve 47. On the shaft 16 which actuates the film changing device and the shutter 23 is fitted a cam disc 55 for the operation of the sleeve 47 against the action of a spring 56, and the consequent moving of the lens 27 during the exposure, whereby successive object planes are focussed on the film. The whole lens system is designed so that the size of the images remain constant during such movement, as described in Specification 304,703. In front of the lens system, is arranged a four bladed diaphragm, each blade of which is mounted to slide in guides, so that the size of the opening may be varied during exposure in accordance with the movement of the lens 27, This movement of each blade is effected from the peripheral cam 66 on the shaft 16 through levers and springs as shown.
