Abstract

304,490. Richmond & Chandler, Ltd., and Mitchell, E. Feb. 6, 1928. Reciprocating sieves.-In a machine for cracking nuts, the kernels and small nuts after preliminary treatment in an air shaft 26 fall onto a sieve 27 and are delivered through an opening 30 on to a reciprocating sieve 31 mounted on springs 32 and shaken by a cam 35, driven by a belt 37, which strikes an arm 34 depending from the sieve. The kernels fall into a receiver 33 and the small nuts roll off the sieve into another receptacle.
