Abstract

304,480. Hutchinson, W. R. Jan. 28, 1928. Bodies.-Flexible joints for the frame members of road vehicle bodies comprise a single screw bolt passing through the juncture of two or more frame members, one member being cut straight across its end face and fitting solidly and flatly against the other member. Packing material may be interposed between the frame members. As shown a bolt 33 is passed through the bottom rail 9 and pillar 7 into the transverse member 12 the nut 34 being disposed in a pocket 35. Packing material 36 of compressed impregnated paper, indiarubber substitute or the like may be interposed as shown.
