Cores, covering by winding.- In wrapping fabric or endless beads for vehicle and other tyres the beads are tensioned to produce rigidity therein by being passed around two or more pulleys 32, 33, one or more of which is or are adjustably supported. In the form shown two pulleys only are employed, and the lower pulley 33 is mounted upon a lever 47, the outer end of which carries a seat 46 for the operator, the tension being applied by the weight of the operator's body. The covering material is carried upon a bobbin 29 supported upon a rotatable annulus 24 having a slot 30 to allow a bead to be passed to the centre thereof. A supplementary wrapping parallel to the beads may be applied before the helical wrapping, the supplementary wrapping material being fed from a spool mounted upon a spigot 63 at the end of a lever 62 pivotally mounted upon the lever 47.
