Abstract

301,891. Schmitz, W. H. Dec. 8, 1927, [Convention date]. Bituminous compositions. - A road-making composition comprising stone aggregate coated with bitumen is prepared bv first coating the stone with mineral, vegetable, animal or other oil and then adding bitumen emulsion. In an example, 300 kgs. of broken stone, 200 kgs. of coarse split stone, 200 kgs. of fine split stone and 50 to 100 kgs. of sand are placed in a mixing- drum and 9 kgs. of soil is added; when the oil is thoroughly distributed, 40 to 80 kgs. of bitumen emulsion is added.
