Work supports.-A device for holding an elastic band in an extended condition while it is being sewn into the top of a stocking comprises two rollers 1, 2 mounted on bearings 4, 5 with free access at one side for receiving the stocking and band, and adapted to be spaced apart by varying extents. In the form illustrated, the bearing 5 is mounted on a pivoted arm so that it can be moved relatively to the bearing 4. A lever 7 co-operates with a stud 6 to hold the arm in adjusted position. The work is fed by the usual feed mechanism of the sewing machine. '
