Hand domestic appliances.- In a device for mixing liquids, dissolving powder, whisking eggs, and like purposes of the type comprising a reciprocating disc 2 approximately fitting a container 1, the disc is provided with a downturned wall 3 which is provided with perforations 4. The position of the perforations at the side instead of in the top of the disc itself prevents the contents being spurted upwardly due to vigorous movement and ensures that the contents are forced toward the container walls. The downturned walls may be at an acute or an obtuse angle and may be curved.
