Abstract

299,194. Rosenheim, O., Schuster, E. H. J., and Tintometer, Ltd. Oct. 31, 1927. Colour analysers.- Apparatus of the Tintometer type for the estimation of the colour value of any given substance by matching the colour with the tint or combination of tints exhibited by light transmitted through a superposed assemblage of colour screens is provided with means for facilitating the selection of the screens and indicating the selection upon a scale. A number of transparent colour screens 24 of different colours and each screen of strips of progressively varying depth of colour are mounted in a casing 13 and adapted to be moved in front of an eye piece 19 by knobs 32 so that various combinations of colours may be observed against a standard white background 37. The transverse positions of the knobs 32 with regard to scales on the casing give an indication of the colour of the specimen observed. The screens may be moved angularly instead of rectilinearly. A detailed description of the various colours used in the screens is given in the Specification.
