297,159. Hofmann, J. W. June 23, 1927. Clamps for cables and conductors.-Relates to a straining-clamp for electric conductors in which the conductor is held fast by a wedge. According to the invention, the body b of the clamp is made U-shaped in cross-section so that the conductor a can be inserted easily in the clamp after removal of the clamping-bolt c. The trough formed by the U-shaped body has a dovetailed recess for the wedge d, which is forced into place by screws e passing through lugs into the clamp body.
