Writing desks.- A desk, writing table, or like article is provided with one or more sliding trays 6, one part 7 of which is hinged to enlarge the tray. As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the part 7 is attached to a lateral edge of the part 6 by flush hinges 8; when folded over the front of the part 6, the two parts 6, 7 are of the same thickness as the rear of the part 6, and all may be pushed into the recess in the pedestal of the desk.
