Abstract

295,135. Elgie, F., and Pyle, F. T. Aug. 26, 1927. Wringers.-The bearings 2 of the lower roller 1 are pivoted at 14 to vertical rigid rods 3 which are secured to a cross-bar 4. A crank 10 is pivoted at 11 to'each side frame 6 of the machine and is connected by a link 9 to the cross-bar 4. By rotating the cranks the cross-bar can be raised against springs 7, the upper ends of which bear against the lower surface of a stationary cross-bar 8 to move the lower roller into operative position. A lever 13, actuated by a push-rod 12, is provided at each end of the machine for breaking the straight-line position of the crank and connecting link to release the pressure between the rollers quickly.
