Abstract

295,090. Le Heup, T. W. May 30, 1927. Stair-carpet fasteners. - A staircarpet fastening comprises a pair of jaws K pivoted together at L and actuated by a lever J so that initial angular movement of the, lever causes the jaws to close upon the carpet after which further movement of the lever causes the jaws to move bodily to stretch the carpet. In the construction shown the jaws are pivoted at L to the lever J which is provided with projections M engaging recesses H in a base member A formed as a pair of arms at right angles to fit in the angle of the stairs, the jaws being located between the arms. The jaws are closed by the engagement of the upper edge of the upper jaw with projections N on the base member.
