Turning-gear.- In an electric starter in which the starting motor a drives a flywheel b and is adapted to be connected by a clutch f to the engine shaft or the engine flywheel h, the armature shaft c carrying the fly-wheel b surrounds the clutch shaft e and is connected to it by a one-way roller or like clutch d. The shaft e connects the clutch f to the gear box g and may carry a dynamo armature, a common field being provided for the starter and dynamo.
