Single-furrow ploughs; multiple-tool and disc-tool implements; adjusting parts; travelling gear; tools.-A ditching and draining plough for cutting trenches of various depths and delivering the soil at either or both sides without breaking it up and without turning it over comprises a main frame a, two pairs of wheels b carried by two standards m adjustable vertically in the main frame, a Y-shaped standard h adjustably bolted to the main frame, a forwardly projecting shoe k fixed on the lower end of the standard, and a share d. and adjustable bed or mould-board e carried on the shoe, the standard h being mounted immediately in front of the rear wheels, which run on the surface of the ground when the plough is in operation. The plough is so arranged that by running it in the reverse direction with the shoe k on the surface of the ground the soil may be replaced on drain pipes placed in the trench. Adjustable disc coulters c and blade coulters are mounted in front of the standard h. The share d has a rounded front edge and fits on the end of the T-iron shoe k, which is bolted to the shaped lower end of the standard h. The bed e is interchangeable and is curved slightly in cross-section and inclined laterally and longitudinally. It has a side wall f and is hinged on the shoe k and bolted to a hand-lever i. Its inclination is adjustable by moving the lever i up or down and fixing it by means of a bolt passing through one of a series of holes in the standard h. The frame a may be raised by means of chains or wire ropes and ratchet pulleys g rotated by a key. The haulage bar l is adjustable vertically in a distance block. The frame a and bar l are secured by setscrews. Two shares d and beds e may be used to deliver soil at both sides, the wheels h being set further apart. According to the Provisional Specification, the plough may have two wheels only.
