Abstract

292,605. Brown, H. June 23, 1927, [Convention date]. Bends. - A return bend for closely spaced tubes such as are used e.g. in superheaters or preheaters, consists of a pressed or forged intermediate piece b and a pressed or forged tube cap c connected by welding. The cap may have the same wall thickness as the tubes, and the radius of curvature of the outer edge of the bend may be equal to one and a half times the diameter of the tube.
