291,547. Mathews, H. E., and Hill & Co., Ltd., J. March 14, 1927. Ball joints; pivoting adjustments.-In a ball- and-socket joint for electric light pendants and for other articles the ball or socket member is formed with grooves with which engage spring- pressed balls on the other member of the joint. As shown, the socket member C with a base D for bolting to the ceiling is formed with grooves G and the ball member is provided with spring- pressed ball catches E. The cup and the ball members may each be formed in two pieces adapted to be screwed together. An opening B<1> is provided to admit an electric wire that is to be passed through the pendant stem S. A cover V is secured to the stem S.
