Lock nuts.-The lock nut 6, made of an elastic metal, is split at 7 from its central hole to its periphery and is screwthreaded to the same pitch as the screw thread of the bolt 3, but on a smaller diameter. The lock-nut is sprung upon the bolt and locks by transverse pressure on the bolt.
