Abstract

Axle-trucks and bogies.-In a bogie for a railway and like vehicle, the bolster 1 which directly supports the vehicle body rests on springs 2 carried by an intermediate spring plank 3 that rests on springs 7, Figs. 3, 5, carried by spring planks 8 suspended by links 11 from the bogie frame. Bars 22 below the bolster structure are supported on arms 23. The spring supports 3 comprise a casting having upwardly extending side flanges 3<a>, Fig. 3, adjoining rubbing plates 4 on the bolster, the castings at opposite sides of the vehicle being connected by a transverse member 5. Rubber stops 13 are fixed to the inner sides of the sole-bars 14 of the bogie to limit the movement of the spring supports 3 and member 5. In Fig. 9, the bolster and intermediate spring plank are shown supported on a transverse bar 26 supported by links 28 from the top plates 31 of the springs 32 which are suspended by links 35 from the bogie frame.
