Couplings, axle - trucks used as.- In railway and like vehicles of the kind in which two adjacent bodies are articulated to a common truck or bogie, the truck 9 is provided with a single bearing 11 in which are supported bear. ings 7 on the adjacent bodies 1, 2, the bearings being so shaped that the bodies tend to be drawn together and are also free to pivot relatively to the truck bearing and to each other. In the construction shown the bearing 11 is of concave spherical shape while the bearings 7 are of corresponding convex hemi-spherical shape and are formed on depending parts 6 of integral underframe castings 4, 5, so that the bodies 1, 2 bend to slide towards each other by gravity. The surfaces 14 of the bodies actually in contact diverge outwardly both in the horizontal and vertical plane so as to permit the bodies to swivel freely relatively to each other, while the bearing member 11 on the truck is preferably flanged at 13 to prevent the bodies separating from the truck.
