Abstract
287,402. Mond, A. L., (Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik A. Krupp Akt.-Ges.). Sept. 14, 1927. Metals, depositing; electrolytcs, circulating; electrodes, supporting.-An article is coated with a metal layer varying in thickness from point to point in a desired manner by applying the electrolyte to the unsubmerged surface in the form of a jet, the thickness at any point being controlled by the strength, speed and size of the jet and the duration of its impingement. The article is connected as cathode and the anode is arranged within or constituted by the jet tube. A soluble anode may be employed or the electrolyte may be charged with the coating material on its passage to the jet.
