Abstract
286,706. Reichmann &. Co. Ges. March 11, 1927, [Convention date']. Grab-forks.-In a grab for taking up scrap iron or ore, of the kind comprising a number of radial grabbing arms a, the links c connecting the arms to the upper sheave-block d are pivoted at 1 to the outer periphery of the arms and are tangential to the paths of movement of the pivots when the grab is open. The inclination of the links is substantially the same in the open and closed positions. The part of the grab arms between the pivot 1 and the point e is a flat curve so that the movement of the points in closing is nearly horizontal. For lifting scrap iron consisting of long pieces, opposite grab-arms are removed.
