Abstract

285,745. Fisk, E. Aug. 26, 1927. Tubes or containers, collapsable.-In a device for extruding the contents of collapsable tubes, the tube 4, Fig. 2, is held between two hinged clamping-members 1, 2, which engage it substantially throughout its length, and are urged towards each other by means such as an indiarubber band 5 or a spring at the hinge. The tube may be further secured by means of a ring 14, Fig. 4, which engages its neck, and is secured to one of the clamping-members. The inner surfaces of the clamping-members may be roughened, or provided with pins or tangs to engage the tube, or an indiarubber or similar lining may be used. Side flanges may be provided on one or both clamping-members to aid in positioning the tube. The device may be operated by gripping the clamping-members between the fingers, or by forcing a rigid ring or band from the lower towards the upper end.
