Fibrous tubes.-In making hollow cylinders or other hollow prisms-e.g., insulating cylinders used in electrical work-by winding upon a metallic mandrel with simultaneously employment of pressure and heat layers of flexible, fibrous or textile material, which in some cases is treated with natural or artificial resin or gum, the mandrel is made adjustable for different sizes of hollow bodies by employing one or more removable sleeves made of metal or other durable material'such as wound sheets of fibrous or textile material and resin or artificial resin, subjected to drying and baking, the sleeves being slit longitudinally or substantially longitudinally. Where more than one sleeve is used the slits are arranged in staggered relation.
